It's March! How did it get to be March?! [insert platitude about how quickly the time passes here.]

You'll have to forgive me if today's post has a rant-y tone to it. I'm running on three sleepless nights in a row and I've spent a good chunk of the last two days fighting with my bank, the company I use to process invoices for Ready to Blog, and customer service for the site I use for photo storage.

Fun!

While I secretly hope that my midnight trips to the microwave to warm up my heating pad are only waking up my obnoxious neighbors who plod around like elephants at five o'clock in the morning, I'm afraid that my poor sister is probably the only one adversely affected by my not-so-stealthy trips. (Sorry, Sister!) (Sorry, Run-on Sentence Police!)

The silver lining of the week has been that I've managed to track down every back issue of a magazine that I was looking for, so I'm eagerly anticipating their arrivals from around the world in the coming weeks! I've also started (and nearly completed) a big re-brand for both Ready to Blog and Today, I'm Bobbi! I can't wait to show you guys, I think it's a huge step forward and I'm really excited about the changes coming up!

Okay, let's get to it!

+ First order of business, you can grab your desktops and wallpapers for March here! I'd love to see your photos of the wallpapers in use, you can tag me here, or here, or here!
+ Why you should stop freaking out over Yahoo's telenetworking announcement.
+ Get to know Penny Martin of The Gentlewoman. Aka, my lady crush.
+ I'm glad I'm not the only person who does this! (Also, I really appreciate that attention to detail on the part of the production staff.)
+ Rosie shares some lunchtime inspiration and it. is. good.
+ This looks like such a fantastic app! (All you folks attending SXSW should check that out.)
+ Lifehacker talks about "money memories" can affect your well-being".
+ Ever notice that I talk a lot about travel but never offer up serious packing tips? It's because I suck at packing. I do. I rarely fold (I employ the stack + roll method), I have a tendency to over-pack, and I usually use about 14% of what I pack and just lug around the rest. But, here are 6 simple packing tips that might just save us all from ourselves (or maybe just me).
+ Lindsay sent me this one: "Why we need to quit telling lies on Facebook".
+ I wrote last week about this awesome project, here's another food-centric Pantone photo project! Love!
+ I love everything about this except OMG MY EYES ARE BURNING. RELAX WITH THE HDR. Yeesh. (But really, it's very sweet, check it out.)
+ This is quite the resignation letter. How often do we get to see someone in such a high profile position take honest and well-reasoned responsibility for something?
+ I was all set to just share this and then just say, "MIAMI!" and end it there. But then I saw this and now I'm just hoping that this whole thing comes to an end before planes start falling out of the sky.
+ Who just steals a chunk of wall from the side of a building? Oh right, Florida.
+ Since it's all going to go to hell in a hand basket today anyway you might as well understand what's going on. Here's a guide to the sequester via LearnVest.
+ I just started watching Enlightened here and there and I really love it even though I thought I wouldn't. Here's a case for why we need it.
+ Never underestimate the power of strangers on the Internet to call you out hard when you do something ridiculous. ("10 people caught sleeping by their 'babe'".)
+ Okay, here's where I start to rant a bit. Everything that went down surrounding Quvenzhané Wallis? That was bullshit. People have been talking about this all week in ways far more intelligent and eloquent than I'll be able to do here, so here's a round-up:
- Francesca Ramsey gets straight to the point here, here, and here.
- I couldn't agree with this more.
- We could all stand to hear this and in this instance, more people should have.
- Blunt, but true.
- For balance, here's a feminist defense of the whole episode.
- I think this (~33min) is an excellent discussion of some of the issues at play here. (Although, I wish these discussions were opened with "black women" and not "African-American women" because not all black women in the States are African-American and this isn't an issue limited to the US.)
+ Okay, moving on. books! I've read some of these and will be hunting down the rest!
+ More from Brain Pickings: "A brief pictoral history of the London tube" and a look at the other Argo.
+ I've fallen in love with some gorgeous fonts lately, this is one of my favorites!
+ My favorite Instagram of the week via @kayteelauren. So simple and pretty!

Aaand, I'm done! I'm going to have to summon some serious zen in order to finally get some rest tonight, but I'm pumped for the weekend overall! In case I run into another up all night kind of night, let me know some of the links you found interesting this week in the comments section! I'll be sure to check them out!

Happy Friday!

I love hearing from you! I try to respond to comments by email, so if your email address isn't linked up to your profile I might have a hard time getting back to you (although I'll do my best to try). Of course, if you'd like to maintain your ninja status, I totally understand that as well!
