I find it very difficult to take properly exposed, non-blurry photos under the dim lights of aquariums. Between the fast-moving fish, red light district lighting, and being trampled by the little feet of four-year old kids who've recently escaped from the clutches of their parents, it's a bit of an exercise in futility to try to get anything frame-able, but I'm going to share these with you anyway because we had such a good time during our visit to The Bristol Aquarium on Sunday!
It was Mother's Day here in the UK, so the Aquarium was busy, but not to the point where we weren't able to enjoy a leisurely stroll through the tanks and open pools. Now, personally, I'm more of a fan of being under the water with the fish and sharks, but I was a bit grateful for the glass standing between me and the Giant Pacific Octopus if I'm being honest.

My favorite part of the day came when we were between displays and Ryan leaned over to me and said, "I really wish we could see turtles." I replied that I was sure they had some around somewhere, but he looked a down a bit, pouted and said, "No, I don't think so. But I'd really like to see some one day." It was seriously adorable and I found myself getting a bit sad for him at the possibility that maybe he wouldn't get to see any after all.
But then!
In the very next enclosure...turtles! I'm telling you, you think you love someone a whole lot and then you see their heart practically explode at the sight of little turtles swimming around and you realize that you had no idea! It was awesome to see him so excited about them, so we spent a good 15 minutes just watching them splash around and play with the bigger fish in their tank. One day I'm going to convince him to go scuba diving with me, I know he'd love it!

We also spent about 20 minutes with me having my face plastered against the tank full of little Nemos and refusing to leave, but then hunger prevailed and we moved on so that we could grab some lunch.

Oh, and this is what I wore!

We're seriously considering getting an annual membership so that we can pop in whenever! If you're interested in visiting, you can find the contact information for the aquarium below, plus a little discount!
