Happy February! January was a big month and man, oh man. It went FAST. I'm really excited for February and hope you guys are as well!

+ First up, the February desktops are available for download! I really love how this month's turned out! You can scoop them up here.
+ And in case you missed it, I had a great chat with the Sons of Creativity team about blogging and Ready to Blog!
+ You Work For Them is having an absolutely INSANE font sale! I'm talking 97% off some fonts. Check it out!
+ I think I found this from Lindsay's Twitter feed, can we talk about how much I LOVE Hanson?! Forever and ever, amen.
+ What a great personal experiment on mindfulness!
+ Great article from Fast Company on turning your social media strategy into brand engagement.
+ Alicia Keys is BlackBerry's new creative director. Hm. Okay? Thoughts?
+ THIS SPEAKS TO MY SOUL.
+ I agree with nearly every single one of these. #15 made my jaw drop.
+ Any creatives looking for a good giggle would do well to check out this single serving blog.
+ One of my favorite new-to-me bloggers talks about three life lessons she's learned from three years of blogging. LOTS of good stuff there!
+ This entire post deserves a slow clap.
+ Loved these gentle reminders on writing so much that I made a little something.
+ This story is insane! I had no idea that it's more difficult for men to change their last name upon marriage than women!
+ The daily routines of famous writers.
+ "The trouble with female celebrity profiles and the men who write them". Thanks for the tip, Jane!
+ Favorite Instagram of the week! Via @sursly.

Okay, that's it! Have great weekends!

Happy Friday! <3

  2. man, I love your links. (and that one DEFINITELY deserves a slow clap.)

about the mindfulness one... complaining is an interesting word. have you noticed the difference between moaning and complaining in England? from the New Yorker back in June 2010:
"Visitors to Britain are rarely able to grasp - sometimes even after decades of residency - the vital distinction its inhabitants make between complaining and moaning. The two activities seem similar, but there is a profound philosophical and practical difference. To complain about something is to express dissatisfaction to someone whom you hold responsible for an unsatisfactory state of affairs; to moan is to express the same thing to someone other than the person responsible. The British are powerfully embarrassed by complaining... They do love to moan, though... Moaning, a source of entertainment in its own right, is also an important psychic blanket, a way of venting resentment without taking responsibility for effecting change."

  3. Great links, as usual! And how can I print that quote about writing and plaster my office with it?? Maybe it would get my co-workers to quit nagging me...

  5. 1.) Hanson. Wow. They sound so good now!

2.) That FB list is so true. #15 is crazy, but #4?! Get it together, people.

3.) The article men changing their names is frustrating. Ever since Husband and I talked about both of us taking MY last name, I've looked into it. I was pretty pissed off in 2007 when I realized how difficult the system makes it for men to change their last name. I read this post (http://www.hunger4more.net/2013/01/28/le-sigh/) through a Houston blogger, and now I'm crafting my own post, especially since we still talk about changing our last name to my maiden name.

    4.) Love you!

  8. Love the desktop calendar - thanks for coming up with those!

I found the name changing link fascinating. It´s so different in Austria, it´s easy to change the name either way or combining the two family names. Easy.

Oh and the Facebook no-go´s are crazy!

    xo

  9. Hi Bobbi, just stumbled across your blog and fell in love. I am a sucker for anything simple and pink so you already got me there. AND you design? Ok, I'm hooked. Definitely following :)

Hope you had a beautiful weekend.

I love hearing from you! I try to respond to comments by email, so if your email address isn't linked up to your profile I might have a hard time getting back to you (although I'll do my best to try). Of course, if you'd like to maintain your ninja status, I totally understand that as well!
