I think the reason that Mondays are so god-awful is that you're forced to confront the harsh reality that the weekend is, in fact, over.
This weekend, I unplugged (oh god, I'm going to pay for that in a second when I open up my work emails) and spent some quality time with good friends and a good man.
And some gooooooood food.
I swear, I ate pizza about thirty times this weekend.
But between all that, I went to one of my local haunts, The Botanist, to pass a few wonderful Saturday afternoon hours with Ryan.
The Botanist is where I had my birthday dinner this past year and also my epic date with Jasmine a few weeks ago. Obviously, I'm a superfan (and, obviously, all the people I hold dear have blogs these days).
With wonderful service and fantastic food served in generous portions – in addition to a blogger's best friend, free WiFi – there's really nothing not to like here. They rightfully boast that they have the best calamari in all of London (I'll add: The World). Also, as a short girl who can never see over a crowd, I'm thankful for their friendly staff who have on multiple occasions looked out for me to make sure I don't get crushed by the Happy Hour banker crowd stampeding their way to the bar.
The Botanist is definitely no secret to Central Londoners, but if you're in the city and looking for a great place to eat, drink, and be merry, make sure to put it on your list!

YES. the only meal I've had there is brunch - like a million times and YUM - but when I was on gardening leave I'd go there and sit with my laptop and order latte after latte - yes, it got expensive - and job hunt. heaven. have you tried their honey smoothie thing?
ReplyDeleteand once when I was there a high schooler was doing her alum interview for Penn and I evesdropped on the whole thing and died. it was amazing.
DeleteOh yum, that can get quite pricey, but they make a good latte! I'll try the honey smoothie next time, I didn't even know that that was on the menu!
