Hollywood Beach is probably my favorite beach in South Florida. It's usually quiet, the boardwalk is dotted with great places to eat {or grab ice cream}, and it's just...happy.
No matter how many times they give the boardwalk a face-lift, you can tell that a point has been made to retain the retro charm for which this stretch of sand became known. I'd argue that this is done much better than South Beach, which is a major plus.
Lots of great memories here: 5Ks, beach days with friends in high school, randomly happening upon a free concert in the middle of the day. I'm not the rollerblading type, but I even have fond memories of that, weaving between palm trees and streets named after presidents.
