memorial day weekend fun.

How to drive yourself crazy in 3 easy steps:

- Live really far away from your friends.
- Work all the time.
- Make your most social activity consist of driving to the Starbucks less than a mile from your house. To work there.

Yep.

You know what's not terribly healthy? Doing all that. I realized towards the end of the week that I need to make the time to see my friends {in person, FaceTime doesn't count} and hear about what's going on in their lives. While I've always been totally happy by myself, I've been a little too isolated lately. So, of course, when my lovely friend Stephanie invited me out for a drag show and brunch on South Beach, my answer was YES, YES, A THOUSAND TIMES YES WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?!

I was a bit excited.

I normally try to stay hidden on Memorial Day weekend in Miami {it gets insane down here},but the weather ended up being fantastic, the traffic was minimal, and the food was incredible. It was well worth the risk! In all, it was a great day and a perfect recharge. We're hitting the beach for a little bit tomorrow {rain plans are leaning towards seeing The Avengers}, and then I'm really excited to get totally caught up on design work and finish polishing off my resume {London, here I come!}.

Hope you've all had a great Memorial Day weekend, and enjoy your day off tomorrow!

Happy Sunday!

PS - The performers had better hair, makeup, and bodies than I will ever have and I REALLY don't know how I feel about that, haha. ;)

  2. I'm so guilty of staying in my little work bubble all the time too. I wish there was more drag shows around here - I'd definitely go!

  5. When you move to England you better visit the north - our part of the country is a million times more wild and beautiful than the south! You need to come see the North York Moors - they're incredible. And yeah, also the Lake District. If you want to see an abnormal feat of human endurance come to Newcastle for a night out in the cold...the lack of clothing is something special. I'm excited to read about how your move goes!

I love hearing from you! I try to respond to comments by email, so if your email address isn't linked up to your profile I might have a hard time getting back to you (although I'll do my best to try). Of course, if you'd like to maintain your ninja status, I totally understand that as well!
